The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services (CFAS) attracts life-long learners from a wide range of academic backgrounds. The length and terms of placements are as diverse as the interests and goals given their field of study. Student Interns are energized individuals that are seeking opportunities to apply their learnings to the promising field of Animal-Assisted Services. Roles, responsibilities, relevance, and reporting requirements are discussed in advance to manage expectations and set realistic goals.

In nutshell, CFAS is an organic national registered charity that connects people, dots, and fills gaps within the burgeoning field of Animal-Assisted Services in order to inspire and sustain the innovation, coordination, and integration of exceptional services, programs and activities within Canada's healthcare, social services, justice, and corrections sectors so as to build healthier and safer communities with people, pets, and partners. Health in this context includes all aspects of individual and collective well-being grounded in informed decisions as caring and engaged members of society.
