The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services (CFAS) attracts life-long learners from a wide range of academic backgrounds to foster One Health for People, Pets, and Partners across Canada.

The length and terms of placements are as diverse as the interests and goals given students field of studies. Student Interns are passionate individuals seeking opportunities to apply their learning's to promote service excellence within the promising  Animal-Assisted Services Sector. Roles, responsibilities, relevance, and reporting requirements are discussed in advance to manage expectations and set realistic goals.


About Us
CFAS is an impartial  interconnected nationally registered non-profit and registered charity that connects people, organizations, and fills gaps within the burgeoning Animal-Assisted Services (AAS) Sector.

We inspire and promote the innovation, coordination, and integration of exceptional clinical and non-clinical AAS within Canada's healthcare, social services, justice, corrections, pubic safety, and voluntary to sectors to foster One Health for People, Pets (pets in service), and Partners (animals in service).

​Animal-Assisted Services (AAS) are mutually beneficial relationships that nurture One Health for People, Pets, and Partners™. Health in this context includes the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of people of all ages and the welfare of pets in service and other animals in service.
