National Standards of Canada (NSC) and Why They are Needed
AAS is a rapidly growing highly fragmented industry sector and competitive marketplace. AAS is not regulated by the public sector. NSC can help to ensure a consistent level of quality, consumer involvement and satisfaction, the health and welfare of the animals, and public safety while cultivating a national credibility chain. Benefits of Developing, Using, or Referring to National Standards of Canada (NSC) The benefits of developing, using, or referring to NSC include, but are not limited to: -safeguarding consumer and human rights to improve quality of life and in this instance the health and welfare of the animals involved in the delivery of AAS, -promoting healthy competition in the marketplace, and innovation across Canada, while exploring the prospects of a fair and adaptable co-regulatory environment through stakeholder engagement, and -providing a consistent and unambiguous means to educate a wide spectrum of interested stakeholders. |
