Open a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Our donors can open a Legacy Account with a gift of $25,000 to $1,000,000 or more. Subsequent donations may be lower amounts but these are major gifting opportunities. Friends and family can also contribute.

Annual Grants from Your Legacy Account
Designating The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services (CFAS) as your charity of choice will allocate your gifts to meet both immediate and long-term needs that support people, pets, and partners (animals in service).

We can decide how much will be distributed each year from your Legacy Account, or we can work with you to help you make informed decisions as to the disbursement of your gifts.  Administration and reporting is seamless.

Leaving a Gift in Your Will
Leaving a charitable bequest in a will often enables individuals to make a generous gift to causes that matter to them and their families. There are also significant tax savings that can be realized for the estate. Donations made in both the year of death and under the individual’s will can be claimed in the year of death and, if necessary, carried back to the preceding year. The 100% net income limitation applies to both the year of death and the preceding year. The donation credit also applies to gifts of RRSPs, RRIFs and life insurance proceeds.

Partnering with The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services by naming us as the beneficiary of these legacies will ensure that your gifts will help, not just one charity, but people, pets, and partners (animals in service), and other charities across Canada.

How your legacy will help

The One Health Fund
This 'national general fund' is needed to support Canadians of all ages with visible and invisible daily living challenges and disabilities through the gift that keeps on giving, the human-animal bond, love just for being. CFAS's charitable programs provide information, support and resources that benefit Canadians the either currently or wish to access services within the healthcare, social services, justice, corrections services, and/or voluntary sectors.

Building Healthier, Safer and More Inclusive Communities
Leaving your legacy will help to build and sustain a solid foundation in which to promote service excellence giving vulnerable persons, their families, and your family peace of mind when they need it most. Please contact us should you wish to discuss leaving your legacy.
